Common questions

How do I delete my data?

Open the app and tap “Delete my data” on the welcome screen. This permanently and immediately removes all your sessions, reflections, and saved patterns.

Is my data private?

Yes. Anchorlight never asks for your name or any personal identifier. We use an anonymous ID stored on your device. Chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate responses — we have opted out of their data training programme. See our privacy policy for full details.

Is this a replacement for therapy or pastoral care?

No. Anchorlight is a faith companion — a quiet space for reflection, prayer, and conversation. It is not a medical or mental health service and is not a substitute for professional counselling, spiritual direction, or pastoral care.

What if I'm in crisis?

If you express distress, the app immediately shows crisis resources with tap-to-call buttons. If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services in your country.

Can I change my faith tradition?

Yes. On the returning user welcome screen, tap “Change faith” at the bottom to go back through the tradition selection.
